राजयक्ष्मरोग चिकित्सा
(tuberculosis treatment)
राजयक्ष्मा (टीबी) एक भयंकर रोग है। इसी लिये इसे राजयक्ष्म अर्थात् रोगों का राजा भी कहा जाता है। इसका उपचार कई प्रकार से बताया गया है। सूर्य की रश्मियों का सेवन करने और अग्नि में विशेष ओषधियों से युक्त आहुतियाँ डालने से इसका उपचार हो सकता है(मुञ्चामि त्वा हविषा जीवनाय कम् अज्ञातयक्ष्मात् राजयक्ष्मात् ।--- इन्द्राग्नी मुमुक्तम् एनम् ॥ अ. ३.११.१ । २०.९६.६) ।अगले मन्त्र में वर्षों तक सूर्यदर्शनशक्ति को देने वाली, अपरिमित बल को प्रदान करने वाली और सौ वर्ष की आयु को देने वाली, किन्हीं प्रभावशाली ओषधियों से बनी हुई आहुति (हम) का वर्णन है, जिसको विधिविधानपूर्वक अग्नि में अर्पित करने से रोगी निश्चित रूप से रोगमुक्त हो सकता है। साथ में सूर्यरूपी इन्द्र से सब प्रकार के दुरितों का अतिक्रमण करके रोगी को दुःखों के पार ले जाने की प्रार्थना भी की गई है(सहस्राक्षेण शतवीर्येण शतायुषा हविषाहार्षम् एनम् । अ. ३.११.३) । तपःपूत, उच्च कोटि के मनोबल से युक्त किसी धर्मपारायण महात्मा पुरुष के द्वारा स्पर्श किये जाने से भी यह रोग दूर हो जाता है। इस विधा के द्वारा मृत्यु की गोद में गए हुए, क्षीणायु और मृतप्राय मनुष्य को भी वापस लाया जा सकता है। और उसे सौ वर्ष की आयु प्राप्त कराई जा सकती है(यदि क्षितायुर् र्यदि वा परेतो यदि मृत्योर् अन्तिकं नीत एव। तम् आ हरामि निर्ऋतेर् उपस्थाद् अस्पार्शम् एनं शतशारदाय ।। अ. ३.११.२) । इसी प्रकार ऐसे धर्मपरायण महात्मा पुरुष के वचनमात्र से पराभूत होकर यक्ष्मारोग बाज पक्षी की तरह उड़कर बहुत दूर चला जाता है(यक्ष्मः श्येन इव प्रापप्तद् वाचा साढः परस्तराम् ॥ ५.३०.९ ) । एक सूक्त में आँख, नासिका, कान आदि शरीर के सभी अंगों से यक्ष्मा को बाहर करने का वर्णन है(अ. २.३३.१-७ ।अज्ञातयक्ष्म (अ. ३.११.१) । कौसू. २७, ३२-३३ में इसे ग्राम्यव्याधि (venereal disease) बताया है और दारिल ने इसे मिथुनसंयोगात् 'मैथुन से उत्पन्न गुप्तरोग कहा है।) ॥
tuberculosis treatment
Tuberculosis (TB) is a terrible disease. That is why it is also called Rajayakshma i.e. king of diseases. Its treatment has been described in many ways. It can be cured by consuming the rays of the sun and putting offerings containing special medicines in the fire (Munchami Tva Havisha Jeevanaya Kam Ajnatayakshmat Rajayakshmat. --- Indragni Mumuktam Enam ll A. 3.11.1. 20.96.6 ).
In the next mantra, there is a description of the offering (Hum) made of some effective medicines, which gives the power of seeing the sun for years, provides unlimited strength and gives a life of a hundred years, which if offered in the fire as per the ritual, the patient will definitely be cured. Can be disease free. Along with this, a prayer has also been made to Indra in the form of Sun to transcend all types of obstacles and take the patient beyond the sorrows (Sahasrakshen Shatviryen Shatayusha Havishaharsham Enam. A. 3.11.3). This disease can also be cured by being touched by an ascetic or a devout person with high morale. Through this method even a dying, emaciated and dying human being can be brought back. And he can be made to attain the age of hundred years (Adi Kshitayur Yadi Va Pareto Yadi Mrityo Antikam Neet Av. Tam Aa Harami Nirrite Upasthaad Asparsham Enam Shatshardaya. A. 3.11.2). Similarly, after being defeated by the mere words of such a pious great man, the disease of tuberculosis flies away like an eagle and goes far away (yakshmah shyen iva praappatd vachha sadh parastraam ll 5.30.9). One Sukta describes the elimination of tuberculosis from all parts of the body like eyes, nostrils, ears etc. (A. 2.33.1-7). Ajnyatayaksham (A. 3.11.1). Kausu. 27, 32-33 I have described it as a venereal disease and Daril has called it a venereal disease caused by sex associated with Gemini.)
क्षेत्रिय रोग अथवा वंशानुगतरोग चिकित्सा
कुछ रोग ऐसे हैं जो पिता-पितपामह से लेकर चौड़ी दर पीढ़ी चलते रहते हैं। ऐसे रोगों को क्षेत्रिय अपना वंशानुगत का आनुवंशिक रोग कहते हैं। प्रायः इन रोगों को असाध्य वा दुःसाध्य माना जाता है। अथर्ववेद में इन रोगों की चिकित्सा का भी उल्लेख है। ऐसे रोगों के विनाश के लिये अपामार्ग नामक ओषधि को सर्वोत्तम कहा गया है। यह अपामार्ग ओषधिशानुगत रोग को और उससे उत्पन्न कष्ट से होने वाले आक्रोश आदि को दूर कर देती है। यह सब रोगरूपी राक्षसियों और रोगजीवाणुरूपी पिशाचियों को दूर भगा देती है(अपामार्गोंऽप मार्ष्टुं क्षेत्रियं शपथश् च यः । अपाह यातुधानीर् अप सर्वा अराय्यः ॥ अ. ४.१८.७) । तीव्रगति वाले हिरण के सिर में औषध है। उसके सींग से निर्मित औषध से वंशानुगत रोग पूर्णतया नष्ट हो जाता है(हरिणस्य रघुष्यदो ऽधि शीर्षणि भेषजम् । स क्षेत्रियं विषाणया विषूचीनम् अनीनशत्। ३.७.१)। चार पाखों वाली छत जैसा हष्टपुष्ट तीव्रगति बलवान् हिरण मानो हृदय में गुथे हुए वंशानुगत रोग पर अपने चारों पाँवों से आक्रमण करके उसे नष्ट कर देता है(अ. ३.७.२-३)। भाग्य का उदय करने वाले, मूलनक्षत्र में उदय होने वाले, विचृत् (रोगों के बन्धन को काट डालने वाले) नाम वाले, दो तारे उदित होते हैं जो अपने उदयकाल में रोग को नष्ट करने में अपना प्रभाव दिखाते हैं। ये तारे वंशानुगत रोग के रोगी के शरीर के नीचे वाले भाग पर और ऊपर वाले भाग पर पड़े रोग के पाशों को खोलकर उसे रोगमुक्त कर देते हैं। बन्धन से मुक्त करने वाले (विवृती) नाम वाले ये तारे सूर्य और चन्द्रमा भी हो सकते हैं। इनको प्रकाश का यथाविधि सेवन करने से भी क्षेत्रिय रोग का निराकरण सम्भव है(उद् अगातां भगवती विचृतौ नाम तारके। वि क्षेत्रियस्य मुञ्चाताम् अधमं पाशमुत्तमम् । अ. २.८.१ । अ. ३.७.४ भी देखें)। जल निश्चय ही औषधरूप है और सब रोगों का नाश करने वाला है। यह भी विधिपूर्वक सेवन करने से क्षेत्रीय रोगों से मुक्ति दिला देता है(आप इद् वा उ भेषजीर् आपो अमीवचातनीः। आपो विश्वस्य भेषजीस् तास् त्वा मुञ्चन्तु क्षेत्रियात् ।। अ. ३.७.५) । पतला भोजन खाने से भी क्षेत्रिय रोग वृद्धि को प्राप्त हो जाते हैं वैद्यों को ऐसे औषधों का ज्ञान है जिनसे ये रोग नष्ट हो जाते हैं( अ. ३.७.६) । एक मन्त्र में कहा गया है कि भूरे वर्ण वाले अर्जुन वृक्ष के पोर की छाल, जौ की पुआल और तिल की मन्जरी तथा क्षेत्रियरोग नाशनी ओषधि का यथाविधि सेवन क्षेत्रिय रोग को नष्ट कर देता है(बभ्रोर् अर्जुनकाण्डस्य यवस्य ते पलाल्या तिलस्य तिलपिञ्ज्या। वीरुत् क्षेत्रियनाशन्यप क्षेत्रियम् उच्छतु।। अ. २.८.३) । इन ओषधियों (फ़सलों) को खेत में उगाने के लिये हल आदि चलाने से जो परिश्रम होता है, उससे भी क्षेत्रिय रोग नष्ट हो जाता है।
regional disease or hereditary disease therapy
There are some diseases which are passed down from generation to generation. Such diseases are called regional hereditary genetic diseases. Generally these diseases are considered incurable or difficult to cure. The treatment of these diseases is also mentioned in Atharvaveda. A medicine called Apamarg has been said to be the best for the destruction of such diseases. This Apamarga removes the disease caused by medicine and the suffering caused by it, anger etc. It drives away all the demons in the form of disease and the vampires in the form of disease-causing bacteria (Apamargonp Marshtun Kshetriyam Shaptash Cha Yah. Apah Yatudhani Ap Sarva Arayyah ll A. 4.18.7).
There is medicine in the head of the fast deer. Hereditary diseases are completely destroyed by the medicine prepared from its horn (Harinsya Raghusyado ऽधी शिर्षनी भेशजम्. स क्षेत्रियं विशानाया विशुचीनम् अनीनशत्. 3.7.1). It is as if a deer, strong and fast, as strong as a roof with four wings, attacks the hereditary disease embedded in the heart with its four legs and destroys it (A. 3.7.2-3). The risers of luck, rising in Mool Nakshatra, named Vicharita (one who cuts the bondage of diseases), two stars rise, who show their influence in destroying diseases during their rise. These stars free the patient of hereditary disease from the disease by opening the loops of the disease lying on the lower and upper parts of his body. These stars named the one who frees from bondage (Vivruti) can also be the Sun and the Moon. It is also possible to cure regional diseases by consuming these Prakash as per the prescribed procedure (Ud Agataam Bhagwati Vichritau Naam Tarake. Vi Kshetriyasya Munchatam Adham Pashmuttamam. A. 2.8.1. Also see A. 3.7.4). Water is definitely a medicine and can destroy all diseases. It also provides relief from regional diseases by consuming it properly (Aap idva u bheshji apo amivachatanih. Apo vishwasya bheshjis tastva munchantu kshetriyaat. A. 3.7.5). Regional diseases also get aggravated by eating lean food. Vaidyas have knowledge of such medicines which can cure these diseases (A. 3.7.6). It is said in a mantra that the bark of the brown-complexioned Arjuna tree, barley straw and sesame seed and the proper consumption of Kshetriyarog Nashani Oshadhi destroys Kshetriya disease (Babhror Arjunkandsya Yavasya Te Palalya Tilasya Tilpinjya. Veerut Kshetriyanasanyap Kshetriyam) Ucchatu.. A. 2.8.3). The hard work done by plowing etc. to grow these medicinal crops in the field also helps in eliminating regional diseases.
